Dear Parents and Guardians of EIS!

Warm greetings from EIS!

At the beginning of the new principal's arrival and joining, EIS has tried to make the best decision to deal with Coronavirus threat and the safety of our students. This is because it relates to the school's responsibility to consider the students’ safety first. So the Principal and Vice Principal have tried to make the best decision by discussing with the school Management Board members, Teachers, and Administrative Staff.

EIS has to deal with the role of school that can help students without stopping their studies, while maintaining the number of class days that are closed. We also tried to understand the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, which the school belongs to, and the decisions of international schools at the same level as ours.

According to the decision of Ministry of Education, Bangladesh, all educational institutions in Bangladesh are to be closed from 18th March to 31st March, 2020.

To follow the decision and instructions of the Government of Bangladesh, the following steps of EIS are for your information:

a) EIS will remain closed from Wednesday, March 18, 2020 to Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

b) To complete and update the lesson plan and other official work, EIS teachers and Admin/Finance Officers will work on Wednesday and Thursday, March 18 – 19, 2020 from 09:00 am to 02:00 pm.

c) Students who were present in class on Monday, March 16, 2020, most of them  have taken their textbooks and notebooks home to study. Absent students’ or their parents/guardians may collect the textbooks and notebooks from Class Teachers / Subject Teachers today and tomorrow (March 18 – 19, 2020)  between 09:00 am to 02:00 pm.

d) If the closing date is rescheduled by the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh to extend the school closing for another period after 31st March, 2020, EIS may launch age appropriate Distance Learning or online-based Virtual Learning systems and this may create a positive learning environment within home or may send Homework manually to the students’ home regularly to study/complete and return to school through school personnel. The decision and preparation will be confirmed and informed on time.

e) To update all parents’ telephone numbers and email address, please fill the attached form and return to school with EIS personnel or email to eisdhaka@gmail.com.

f) After updating parents’ email address, EIS will send information through email and please check your email carefully for communication from the school. The school website (www.ebenezeris.com) will include updates on the COVID-19 situation as well as educational information.

g) If necessary to communicate with the respective Class/Subject Teacher/s about lessons or homework or any other information, please contact him/her between 10:00 am to 04:00 pm. The Class Teachers’ list with contact numbers is attached herewith.

We would express deep condolence to the families around the world who have lost their beloved family member/s. We would pray to Almighty God to heal the affected patients, countries and save everyone from this disease/virus.

Thank you.
